One Room Challenge - Week 4!

Welcome to Week 4!! It’s time to smile my friends, so let’s get to some Happy Hour!

This week is the Zombie Panda! A bit complicated but oh so worth it!

Two reasons for this..

1. I’ve had trouble sleeping because I’ve been so excited about the progress of this challenge, and

2. My Panda White marble vanity was installed!!!

It’s is absolutely gorgeous! The guys at Bottega Stone did an amazing job.

The space between the sink and the toilet is really tight, 31 inches. So I knew the maximum width I could go would be 27 inches. I am using a vessel sink (which will be next week and oh goodness gracious is it amazing) which is 24 inches wide so that’s where the lack of sleep came in! I wanted different. I wanted sculptural. But could it work?? Yes, when it comes to our own interiors, designers are the worst critics!

So after much thought, collaboration with my fabricator, and of course the always helpful insight of my engineer brained husband, we figured it out (with the help of Muggsy too of course)!

The Panda White is a marble from China, which continues the Asian design influence. It is a marble, which means it is very porous and needs to be sealed. Because I have chosen a vessel sink, and this is my powder room, it will absolutely work!

So next week will be the sink and plumbing Install! I don’t want to give it away, but it won’t be from your typical material and again, something you’ve NEVER seen before! Until then my friends.. Let’s Portfolio Up!
